The Moto C and Moto C Plus are two very similar phones, and nearly the same price. Why do they both exist, and which one should you maybe buy? Here’s the latest
Motorola is storming back as a brand in the mobile space, and we for one are happy about that. It has announced its cheapest smartphone yet, the Moto C, which starts at under £90.
The Android Nougat 7.0 phones both have 5in displays – the Plus model has improved battery and screen, but not a larger screen size.
Read on for all the info on the Moto C and Moto C Plus.
Both phones will become available ‘beginning this spring’ according to Moto, so we will update this with specifics as soon as we know more.
Seeing as we are in spring, we’ d hope that we see them pretty soon.
Both models will be available in red, gold and black.
The Moto C is well priced and will start at £89.99 SIM free. The beefed up C Plus will cost just £20 more at £109.99.
Both handsets will potentially be available on contract for free from various operators and resellers in the UK too.
What are the specs?
As you can see, the main differences are in the screen tech, processor, RAM choice, main camera, battery size and weight.
For only £20 more, the Moto C Plus looks like a no brainer here, such are the apparent advantages.
The devices look very similar – the above image is what the rear of both phones looks like. The same applies to the below image of the front of the devices, but remember the C Plus is bound to look better with the improved screen tech.
Moto claims selfies on the Moto C are ‘worth sharing’ (good start) thanks to the front-facing selfie flash. The rear 5Mp snapper will hopefully give decent results too at under £90.
Both phones only have 16GB, but you can add up to 32GB extra with a microSD card. That’s enough for plenty of music to be enjoyed via the 3.5mm audio jack.
The best upgrade on the C Plus as well as the display tech is the 4,000mAh battery. With that much power in a low end phone, fingers crossed we are looking at a 2+ day phone.
