Elliot Abrams, who served in foreign policy positions for Reagan and President George W. Bush told CNN that Trump « comes out looking better, not only as presidential, but as reaching out to Muslim leaders from around the world. »
Supporters hailed the tone and message on Twitter.
Entertainer Vinnie James said the speech —with its demand for Islam adherents to deal with terrorists and « drive them out » – was reminiscent of Reagan’s memorable call to « Tear down this wall. »
