The Royals singer looked glamorous in the gown and played down her look with natural looking makeup.
She also chose to keep her hair simple, wearing her brunette locks out in tousled waves.
The loose-fitting dress highlighted her slender frame, with the silky fabric gathering around her waist before falling elegantly to just below the knee.
The Grammy award-winning artist complemented the chic number with a pair of black platform heels.
The brunette also opted to keep her accessories minimal with some simple studded earrings and rings.
Lorde has previously admitted to buying men’s clothing out of her love for a ‘perfect pair of pants’, but has adapted to more feminine style of late.
The brunette appeared on Thursday night’s episode alongside American actor Ethan Hawke, and performed songs from her latest album, Melodrama, which was released to Australian and New Zealand fans on Friday.
The 20-year-old’s appearance comes after she revealed to NME the difficulties she’s faced since shooting to fame as a 16-year-old.
‘When it was happening, I was quite overwhelmed by it. But that was a long time ago. If anything, I’ ve slowly been getting less famous since Royals was really big. Which is totally cool for me… I suck at being famous. And that’s fine.’
