Construction starts this month on Pioneer Natural Resources HQ at Irving's $1 billion Hidden Ridge

Developer KDC will start work on North Texas’ next major mixed-use development this month.
KDC – the same company that’s building Toyota’s new headquarters in Plano – and telecom giant Verizon are development the $1 billion Hidden Ridge development in Las Colinas.
KDC said Friday that it has completed a deal to start the first phase – a 10-story office building and parking garage for energy firm Pioneer Natural Resources.
The Pioneer complex will be constructed on part of the more than 100-acre site west of State Highway 114 and will open in 2019.
« Pioneer has called Irving home for almost 20 years, and we could not be more pleased to say Irving will be our home for another generation,  » Tim Dove, president and CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources, said in a statement « We conducted an extensive search across North Texas, but nothing compared to this property in terms of value, access and amenities.
« And we are excited to join Verizon in the Hidden Ridge development. »
Duda Paine Architects, HKS and Corgan Associates all worked on plans for the new Pioneer Natural Resources building. Austin Commercial is the general contractor.
Pioneer plans to move more than 1,000 people into the new Irving development.
The City of Irving has provided almost $6 million in economic incentives for the Pioneer project.
« Pioneer has been a tremendous corporate partner for 20 years,  » Irving city manager Chris Hillman said. « Their decision to remain in Irving underscores the value and convenience the city provides the many national and international corporations that call Irving home. »
The huge Hidden Ridge project has been in the works for more that a year and is being built on land Verizon has owned for years across the street from its long-time corporate campus on Hidden Ridge Drive.
A new DART commuter rail station will connect the mixed-use project with Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and downtown Dallas.
Plans for the Hidden Ridge mixed-use project include more than 2 million square feet of offices, hundreds of apartments, restaurants and shops.
Like Richardson’s CityLine development and the $3 billion Legacy West project in Plano, Hidden Ridge will have a variety of construction designed to attract and retain younger workers.
