As part of its Prime day sales, Amazon has discounted Beats Studio Wireless headphones by a third.
For Amazon’s Prime day sales the online retailer is discounting Beats flagship over-ear headphones, the Beats Studio Wireless, by almost 40% off its recommended retail price.
Granted, in recent months the headphones’ price have hovered closer to £290 rather than its full £330 RRP, but this still represents a steep discount for anyone looking to jump in with the biggest headphone brand around right now.
When we reviewed the headphones back in June 2014 we gave them 3.5 stars, with their biggest downside being the fact that they were ‘exorbitantly pricey’ . This discount removes the biggest downside to these headphones.
If you’ ve had your eye on these headphones for any amount of time then this deal is a no-brainer. According to price tracking websites the Beats Studio Wireless have never been cheaper.
But if you are on the fence, then there a number of other headphone brands that are worth considering which we round up in our guide to the best over-ear headphones. Beats notoriously have a very bass-heavy sound signature, but without spending too much more you can find another pair of headphones with a much more balanced sound.
Even if you want the Beats sound, the Studio Wireless are the last generation of headphones from the brand. Newer models, which include the Beats Solo 3 wireless and the Beats X, contain Apple’s W1 chip which offers a better level of wireless connectivity.
That said, Beats hasn’ t updated its over-ear Studio line with the W1 chip, meaning the deal is still on the most recent version.
These aren’ t the only headphones to see a steep discount on Amazon today. The similarly style-focussed Beoplay H6 have also seen a steep discount to a much lower £135.
