Katy Perry is singing a new tune.
The pop star, who once warned Taylor Swift not to come for her, is insisting she’s buddy-buddy with her one-time nemesis.
« I love her, I always have, » Perry said Wednesday on Australia’s « Today » show while discussing her past feud with Swift.
Perry, 32, admitted that she and Swift, 27, have had their share of differences but said it’s nothing but love now.
Katy Perry’s new song renews Taylor Swift feud speculation
« I just continue to say, ‘God bless her on her journey, ‘ » she said.
The « Roar » signer mimicked those same sentiments last month when she changed the lyrics in her song « Swish Swish, » a track that reportedly contained a Swift diss.
Instead of singing the original line « Don’t you come for me, » Entertainment Tonight reported that Perry changed the words to « God bless you on your journey, oh baby girl. »
The pop stars’ bad blood began in 2013 after backup dancers on Swift’s tour left to join Perry as she hit the road.
Katy Perry says ‘it’s time’ for Taylor Swift to finish feud
Swift accused the singer of stealing the dancers, but Perry explained during an interview with James Corden that she had known the dancers for years and they wanted to work with her first, but she wasn’t on tour at the time.
« I was like, ‘yeah, of course, I’m not on a record cycle… get the work and she’s great. But I will be on a record cycle probably in about a year, so be sure to put a 30-day contingency in your contract, so you can get out if you want to join me, ‘ » she said.
Swift has never addressed her drama with Perry publicly, though it was widely suspected that her hit song « Bad Blood » was meant as a diss track for Perry.
