Will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 Octa-Core processor
Rumored to be launched later this year, the Moto X4 smartphone will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 Octa-Core processor, 4GB RAM, a glass and metal body that is IP68 certified for dust- and water-resistance, a gorgeous and thin design sporting a 5.2-inch display with full HD (1920×1080) resolution and thin side bezels.
In terms of internal storage, Moto X4 will be offered in two variants, one with 32GB and the other with 64GB, both featuring a microSD slot. As you can see from the leaked image, the device comes with dual rear cameras, with 12MP and 8MP respectively, as well as a front 16MP selfie camera.
In case you’re wondering, the Moto X4 will be shipping with a battery that has a 3,000mAh capacity, and it very much looks like the smartphone will be powered by Google’s latest Android 7.1 Nougat mobile operating systems, but it’s reportedly the first non-Google branded device that supports the Fi MVNO pay-as-you-go service.
A fingerprint sensor is implemented in the front button and it’s capable of recognizing gestures. Some also say that it is possible for Motorola to partner with Google to offer the Moto X4 smartphone via the Project Fi wireless service, though US customers could also buy one from Sprint or T-Mobile.
As for the release date, sources with knowledge of the company’s plans say Moto X4 could launch in the fourth quarter of 2017, most probably during the holiday shopping season, so it would most likely get the upcoming Android 8.0 « Oreo » upgrade that should be out later this summer from Google’s bakery.
