TheSSS 22.1 is based on 4MLinux Server 22.1
For those unfamiliar with TheSSS (The Smallest Server Suite) , it’s a lightweight server suite distributed in the form of a live image, allowing you to run a full-featured Linux server directly from a bootable medium, without installing anything on your personal computer.
TheSSS is designed with system administrators in mind, those who need an extremely small and fast server ready on hand for quick and painless projects even on the go. It supports a wide range of servers, including HTTP and HTTPS, FTP and SFTP, SSH and Telnet, SMTP, DNS, and MySQL.
It even comes with a proxy server, Polipo, which integrates with the widely-used Tor anonymous network, and includes security-oriented components like Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) and the iptables-based 4MLinux Firewall. TheSSS can be easily deployed to and used straight from a USB flash drive.
Based on 4MLinux Server 22.1, the latest release of TheSSS includes up-to-date components, among which we can mention the Linux 4.9.33 LTS kernel, Apache 2.4.27 web server, MariaDB 10.2.7 database server, BIND 9.11.0-P3 DNS server, Postfix 3.2.2 SMTP server, OpenSSH 7.5p1 SSH server, and both PHP 7.0.21 and 5.6.31.
« This is a minor (point) release based on the 4MLinux Server 22.1, meaning that the components of the LAMP server are now: Linux 4.9.33, Apache 2.4.27, MariaDB 10.2.7, and PHP (both 5.6.31 and 7.0.21) ,  » said Zbigniew Konojacki in the release announcement .
TheSSS 22.1 is available for download right now on our website if you want to use it for your projects or at work, but the developer instructs existing users to update their installations to the new release using the « zk update » command in a terminal emulator.
