Coroner identifies woman killed in Marrero hit-and-run

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has no information about the driver in the hit-and-run.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office identified the woman killed in a Marrero hit-and-run Tuesday night (Aug. 8) as Gabrielle Dixon, 33.
Dixon, of Marrero, died of multiple blunt force injuries, said Mark Bone, chief death investigator for the coroner’s office.
Deputies found Dixon lying in the roadway near Ames Boulevard and Sixth Avenue in Marrero about 10: 50 p.m. after responding to a report of a pedestrian injured in a hit-and-run, said Lt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
She was taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans, but Dixon succumbed to her injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office has no information about the vehicle that hit Dixon.
