He was hit by a pitch in his final plate appearance.
Cooper wasn’ t in the original starting lineup but replaced Clint Frazier, who felt tightness in his oblique during batting practice and is scheduled for an MRI on Thursday.
Right-hander Troy Scribner (2-0) earned the win in the second start of his career. He allowed one run and two hits. Scribner didn’ t walk a batter and struck out four.
Robinson Cano had two hits and scored twice, and Ben Gamel singled and made a sparkling defensive play to help Seattle to its fourth win in five games.
Bumgarner (2-5) struck out seven and gave up five hits.
