T1 signal raised as tropical cyclone Pakhar approaches Hong Kong: T3 expected tonight

Signal expected to be upgraded to T3 tonight as strong winds hit
Hongkongers can expect a rainy weekend as a standby signal no 1 is issued since Saturday morning, just three days after the city was battered by a typhoon signal no 10.
The Observatory hoisted the lowest signal in Hong Kong’s storm warning system at 9.40am, as tropical cyclone Pakhar is “intensifying gradually”. The Observatory will consider issuing the strong wind signal no 3 Saturday evening.
But the weather will improve midweek next week with a few showers and sunny intervals during the day, the Observatory said.
At 8am, Pakhar was centred about 490km of Dongsha.
