Two adults and two children are killed when the private plane goes down west of Denver
Authorities say two adults and two children were killed when the private plane they were traveling in went down in western Colorado.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office says the plane carrying the family of four was flying from Fort Collins to Moab, Utah, when it crashed late Friday about 170 miles west of Denver. Denver’s KMGH-TV reported the Cirrus SR22 disappeared from radar near Baxter Peak, 15 miles north of Glenwood Springs.
Searchers found scattered debris shortly before noon Saturday and were able to land. They found that no one had survived. The sheriff’s office worked to get ground crews to the area to recover bodies and begin the investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board and FAA will investigate.
The victims’ names have not been released.
