« Any threat to the United States or its territories, including Guam or our allies, will be met with a massive military response. A response both effective and overwhelming, » Mattis said in a statement delivered from the White House Sunday afternoon.
« Kim Jong Un should take heed the United Nation’s Security Council’s unified voice, » he said, referring to North Korea’s leader.
Mattis also said that all U. N. Security Council members have agreed on the threat North Korea poses, and that « they remain unanimous in their commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. »
