IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Five must-reads before kickoff:
* Cincinnati RB Mike Boone made headlines earlier this week when he said he had « no doubt (the Bearcats) can go out shock the world » and beat Michigan. It’s the second week in a row an opponent has tried calling their shot on the Wolverines, who remain focused as ever heading into Week 2.
* Michigan doesn’t have a full-blown quarterback controversy yet, but Wilton Speight will take the field Saturday with everyone picking apart his every move. In his Week 2 Q&A, Aaron McMann takes questions about Speight and Michigan’s QB situation, Chris Evans’ spot atop the running back depth chart, preparation for Florida and more.
* Don’t expect many problems up front, but the Bearcats could give Michigan problems in the secondary. QB Hayden Moore was near perfect last week against FCS Austin Peay, and Cincinnati has plenty of options at receiver. We did a position-by-position breakdown for each team, and offered up a prediction.
* Attending a Michigan football game for the first time in a long time? We’ve got you covered in our A to Z guide, with tips on where to park in Ann Arbor, tailgating rules and what you can and cannot bring into Michigan Stadium.
* The latest news and notes heading into Saturday’s game, including the possibility of Michigan using a four-running back rotation, the latest on injuries and the Wolverines’ impressive record in home openers.
