MONTCALM COUNTY, MI — Three children are dead and six others injured after a pickup truck crashed into a buggy Sunday morning.
Montcalm County dispatchers reported the incident before 8:40 a.m. Sunday, which occurred on Condensery Road in Bushnell Township near Sheridan. According to Michigan State Police, a pickup truck was driving east on Condensery Road when it struck the rear of a buggy carrying nine people.
According to a report from WOOD TV8, the three children killed were 7,9 and 12-years-old. Six other passengers in the buggy were taken to the hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup was uninjured and is cooperating with police.
Troopers say alcohol does not appear to be involved in the crash, but the incident remains under investigation.
Calls to police were not returned Sunday.
