Adam Sandler has just turned in one of the best performances of his career – and no, as a longstanding critic of his work, I’m not being sarcastic. “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)” recently debuted as a Netflix exclusive, and runs directly counter to the cruddy, lowbrow comedies he has produced in a deal his film company, Happy Madison, has with the streaming service. (Unsurprisingly, “Meyerowitz” is not part of that deal.)
So it’s time to reconfigure our assessments of Sandler’s filmography. Here are the five best and five worst movies he’s ever made – and considering he’s a magnet for inexplicably bizarre projects, I threw in the five weirdest ones for good measure.
