A cargo loading vehicle caught fire on Monday evening, prompting Los Angeles-bound flight to be cancelled
A ground worker at Hong Kong International Airport sustained minor injuries when a cargo loading vehicle next to a parked aircraft caught fire on Monday evening.
The vehicle was loading for American Airlines flight AA192, which code shares with MH9472 and CX7686, when it caught fire near the tail of the plane at about 5.20pm. No crew or passengers were on board the aircraft, which was near gate No 42 at the airport.
Flames were seen spreading to the aircraft but the fire was put out by fire crews soon after.
The male worker, 59, was injured after he jumped from the vehicle.
