« that’s how players feel about you »
As the aftermath of Houston Texans owner Bob McNair’s recent comments – in which he likened allowing players to protest the national anthem to « inmates running the prison » – continues to stir throughout the league as players a planning a separate protest, now Jay Z is speaking out against the remarks.
During the first concert of his ‘4:44’ Tour in Anaheim, California, Jay Z hit back at McNair for his comments, saying « that’s how players feel about you, » referring back to the Texans owner.
The New York Times reports:
After « The Story of O. J., » which he dedicated to the civil rights activist Dick Gregory, he mentioned with exasperation how the owner of the Houston Texans recently said that the N. F. L. « can’t have the inmates running the prison. »
« That’s how they look at you, » Jay-Z said. « That’s exactly how they feel about you. »
