A militant believed to have played a key role in the deadly 2012 attack on the US embassy in Benghazi, Libya was captured by US forces, it was revealed on Monday.
US Special Operation Forces captured the militant — Mustafa al-Imam — in Libya in the past few days, officials said.
Authorities believe al-Imam played a role in the attack that killed U. S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
President Trump said in a statement Monday that although five years have passed since the fatal attack, “our memory is deep and our reach is long.”
Trump said that the suspect would face justice in the United States.
