Charities fear a heavy blow from GOP tax reform

The GOP tax reform plan could hurt charitable giving, working nonprofits in the metro.
President Donald Trump took his push for tax reform to the streets Wednesday, stopping in Missouri to make a public appeal for tax reform legislation to be passed. Tuesday, Trump visited Republican Senators on Capitol Hill where he pushed them to get on board with the bill. However, some Republicans remain concerned over aspects of the legislation. One of the concerns is that the tax reform plan will hurt charitable giving. Many people who give to churches or community agencies like United Way do so because of the tax incentive. KCCI Chief Political Reporter Cynthia Fodor explains how that may change.
