UPI Sports Editor Al Butler’s top fantasy football quarterbacks for Week 13.
Nov. 30 (UPI) — Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins lead my top 20 quarterback rankings for Week 13 of the fantasy football season.
Tom Brady, Philip Rivers and Carson Wentz round out my top-five options for the week.
All of those quarterbacks have likely been starting all season long for fantasy football squads, but there has been some emerging talent out of the free agent pool.
Check out my Week 13 add/drops article if you need some help at the position
Here are my Top 20 options at the position this week.
TOP 20 WEEK 13 RANKINGS BELOW
TOP SHELF
Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 19-of-31 passes for 242 yards, two scores and an interception in a Week 12 win against the New York Giants. On Thursday he gets a Dallas Cowboys defense allowing the sixth-most passing yards, seventh-most fantasy points per game and tied for allowing the third-most touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. Start Cousins as a high-end QB1, regardless of league size.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has thrown multiple touchdown passes in three consecutive games. In Week 12, he lit up the Dallas Cowboys for 434 yards and three scores. This week, Rivers and the Chargers get the Cleveland Browns, a defense allowing the second-most passing scores and eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Rivers comes in as my No. 4 option for Week 13.
SNEAKY PLAYS
Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13. The Cardinals are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Goff is coming off of a game where he completed 28-of-43 passes for 354 yards and two scores against a stout New Orleans Saints defense. Look for his hot streak to continue this weekend. He is my No. 7 option for Week 13.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor is once again the starter. This week he faces the New England Patriots in an AFC East clash. The Patriots have allowed the most passing yards in the AFC to opposing quarterbacks. They have also allowed the fifth-most passing scores and fantasy points per game to opposing passers. Taylor is my No. 9 option for Week 13.
LONGSHOTS
Reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Month Case Keenum needs to be started if you have questions at quarterback. Keenum has thrown for nine scores in his last four games. He completed 21-of-30 passes for 282 yards and two scores in Week 12 against the Detroit Lions. He is my No. 11 option this week against an Atlanta Falcons defense that just allowed nearly 300 passing yards from Ryan Fitzpatrick .
Josh McCown is another player you could have gotten off of your waiver wire if you needed help at quarterback. The New York Jets gunslinger is coming off of a big Week 12 performance. Last week he completed 19-of-36 passes for 307 yards and three scores against the Carolina Panthers. This week he gets the Kansas City Chiefs, a defense that has allowed the eighth-most passing yards and seventh-most passing scores to opposing quarterbacks. McCown is a QB1 for me in this spot and is ranked No. 12.
