The Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds receives a new patch that fixes a number of the game’s bugs as well as applies visual and performance improvements.
It’s no secret that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a bit of a mess on Xbox One. However, PUBG Corporation is already working to make it a better experience for console players, releasing a patch today that addresses a number of the game’s bugs and some other major issues.
As explained in the patch notes for the most recent PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds update on Xbox One, PUBG Corporation has squashed a handful of bugs. Some of the more notable fixes include a problem where voice chat ceased to function when a squad leader left the party and an issue where player names would not display properly in the lobby.
Besides fixing bugs, the new update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One also improves some of the game’s animations, gives its graphics a boost, and improves its performance. Different hair color options are now available during the character customization process, and various UI elements have been tweaked as well, such as players being given a visual prompt to reload a weapon and enter a vehicle.

In fact, the only thing it does for the game’s actual minute to minute gameplay is make it possible to fuel motorcycles, even when the player is in a sidecar.
Even so, the 1 million plus fans will likely appreciate this patch, as it makes the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds somewhat more playable. The game still has a long way to go if it wants to catch up to its PC counterpart, but more significant updates should come next year.
It remains to be seen just how long it will be until the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds receives bigger updates, like the Miramar desert map and the 3D killcam coming to the PC version on December 20. However, it’s clear that 2018 will have plenty in store for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds fans across all platforms.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now in early access on Xbox One and PC. Its full release on PC is scheduled for December 20.
