PORTAGE, MI — Police are identifying a man killed when a car crashed into a tree in the U. S. 131 median as Michael Joseph Wood, 38, of Schoolcraft.
Wood was driving a 2011 Ford Focus about 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22 in the northbound lanes of U. S. 131 when the vehicle went off the road and struck a tree in the median.
He later died at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
