Some of the specifications of the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S9+ seem to have been revealed in a GeekBench benchmarking test result.
NEW DELHI: Most Samsung Galaxy S9 rumours and leaks have so far largely hinted at design and rumoured specifications of the smartphone. However, these alleged specifications seem to be taking some shape now. Some of the specifications of the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S9+ seem to have been revealed in a GeekBench benchmarking test result.
The benchmark results show a Samsung smartphone codenamed ‘SM-G965U1’. The device is said to be the Galaxy S9+ as the Galaxy S8+ and the S7 Edge also came with ‘U’ and ‘5’ variables in their code names. The handsets in this case is said to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon version of the device and an unlocked version for the US.
As seen in the results, the Galaxy S9+ gets a single core point of 2422 and a multi-core score of 8351. The smartphone was running Android 8.0 Oreo and was powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB onboard. Nothing else has been mentioned though.
It has been rumoured that both the Galaxy S9+ and the Galaxy S9 will come in different RAM capacities.
One of the newest set of leak indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will feature a single rear camera. The leak came in the form of an image from a website, showing the back panel of the alleged smartphone. The image shows the back panel of the smartphone sporting a cut out that although looks like a slot for dual rear cameras, but is actually said to house a single rear camera and a fingerprint sensor.
This is rather surprising as Samsung has already entered the dual-rear camera bandwagon this year with the Galaxy Note 8.
Samsung is being said to launch its two new flagship smartphones at MWC 2018 this year. A report from the Bloomberg states that the duo may go on sale sometime in late March. In 2017 too, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones in March end.
