Joseph Wayne Miller, who memorably portrayed Salami Sam in the comedy flick « Heavyweights » as a kid, has died at 36.
The ex-child actor died Tuesday in his sleep and was found by his girlfriend, Miller’s mother told TMZ .
Judd Apatow, who produced « Heavyweights, » fondly remembered working with Miller in the 1995 movie after learning of his death.
« When we made ‘Heavyweights’ being around Joe Miller was pure joy, » Apatow said in a statement. »We could not have loved spending time with him more. He made everyone around him so happy. What a terrible loss. »

A cause of death has not been revealed for Miller, who died in Chicago.
Miller starred alongside Ben Stiller, Kenan Thompson and more in « Heavyweights, » which centered on a group of children who attend a weight loss program called Camp Hope.
Another co-star, Aaron Schwartz, paid tribute to Miller in an Instagram post.
« Rest In Peace buddy, » he captioned the post.
