While Monster Hunter: World was poised to be a popular game release for 2018, few could have predicted one of the game’s fan bases would include felines.
With the positive reviews for Monster Hunter World, most expected the game to build a strong fanbase of veterans and newcomers. However, few could have predicted how popular the game would be with non-humans. It seems that the Palicoes’ biggest fanbase may be cats, and it is hilarious to watch.
It seems that while some gamers are hunting beasts, completing investigations, and playing the game (solo or co-op), some Monster Hunter World players have taken to social media to post their cats’ response to the Palicoes within the game. While each reaction is distinct, the real-world feline reacting to the in-game feline may make many a gamer’s day. Check out some of the reactions below:
Each cat definitely seems perplexed, but the final tweet – @pon_NSR21’s cat – seems especially perplexed by the cat in the box. It doesn’t seem like this was an anticipated reaction by Capcom or any individual player, but of course, that just makes it even more hilarious.
After laughing, it may be time to complete the limited-time PS4-exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn quest located in Monster Hunter World. Upon completion of the quest (which is ending February 8), the hunter will be rewarded armor that effectively turns the Palico into a Watcher. It may be interesting to see how a cat reacts a mechanized version of the companion.
While cats may be freaking out over Palicoes, Monster Hunter World players are likely freaking out over the newest launch trailer for the game. It is a beautiful commemoration of the highly-anticipated and freshly-released game, with moments that may turn humans into cats around the world. Now that the game is released, it seems likely that players will begin pawing for more.
How have your cats reacted to the Palico, hunters? Let us know in the comments!
Monster Hunter World is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release set for some time in Fall 2018.
