Poison Sacs are used to craft many items in Monster Hunter World, so figuring out how to find them is essential to continue powering up your hunter.
Crafting is a significant part of Monster Hunter World gameplay, and often you’ll find yourself scratching your head over how to get the items you need. One of the first items that’s likely to give you trouble is the Poison Sac. Poison Sacs are used to craft many items in Monster Hunter World, so figuring out how to find them is essential to continue powering up your hunter.
When you go to craft an item that requires a Poison Sac for the first time, you’ll likely notice you already have some. That’s because you’ll take down a few of the monsters who carry them in some of the early quests. The Poison Sac is found by taking down the Pukei-Pukei, but you’ll have to pay attention if you want the item to drop.
You can find Pukei-Pukei in the Ancient Forest region of Monster Hunter World. They look like a frog, or a chameleon had babies with a chicken. It can use its mouth and tail to fling poison at you and is somewhat annoying. While Pukei-Pukei aren’t too elusive, you’ll have to make sure there aren’t any larger monsters in the area before you attempt to get the Poison Sac. They’ll run from creatures that are bigger than them, and it’s already hard enough to hit them in the right place to get the sac to drop.
Once you’ve got a Pukei-Pukei cornered, you’ll need to attack its head until it breaks. Once it does, the Poison Sac will drop, and you can pick it up. You’ll get a message letting you know when the break occurs, and after that, you just have to look around on the ground for your item. You can also gather these by killing Pukei-Pukei, but unlike the head break method, killing them doesn’t guarantee a Poison Sac will drop.
