A 71-year-old man hit by a car in Queens has died, police said.
Philip O’Reilly, of Elmhurst, died at Jamaica Hospital on Wednesday.
The night before, shortly before 11 p.m., he was struck by a Nissan Altima as he crossed Union Turnpike at 175th. in Fresh Meadows.
The 47-year-old driver, who was heading west on the turnpike, remained at the scene and was not charged.
Police said the driver had the right of way and that the victim, though in the crosswalk, was going against the red light.
