The iconic rocker announced his farewell tour Wednesday.
After a three-year farewell tour, Elton John will be unplugging his microphone to spend time with his kids.
“Why now? Well, before the children, I thought… this is what I’m going be doing till the day I die,” the iconic performer said on “Good Morning America” Thursday. “But I don’t want to be traveling away from my children. They need me. I need them much more than much more than another tour or doing another show.”
The “Your Song” crooner and husband David Furnish are parents to two boys, Elijah, 5, and Zachary, 7.
“Our boys came into our life at a late time,” 70-year-old John told Robin Roberts. “I’ve never experienced anything like it, being a father.”
The “Tiny Dancer” singer didn’t struggle to make up his mind, saying there was “no contest” choosing between spending time with family versus fans.
“It’s a very easy decision to make,” he said.
