Fuel tanker truck overturns after crash with car

The crash happened Friday, Feb. 9
ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, MI — A tanker truck hauling 12,000 gallons of fuel overturned after a crash with a car near Zeeland, police said.
The crash happened in the early afternoon hours of Friday, Feb. 9 on Byron Road just east of I-196.
Police said the tanker truck, a J & H Oil Co. truck, collided with Chrysler PT Cruiser. No one was injured.
After the crash, some fuel spilled into the ditch and an Ottawa County Hazardous Materials Team was called to the site.
It’s not clear how much fuel spilled out of the tanker. Youngs Environmental Cleanup was called to handle the cleanup, Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said.
Police closed Byron Road from I-196 to 76th Avenue because of the crash.
