Rumours about Mi Mix 2S mean that Xiaomi could be competing with Samsung to be the first company to bring a Snapdragon 845-powered device in the market.
Chinese smartphone maker and electronics giant Xiaomi is likely to launch an upgraded variant of its premium Mi Mix 2, the Mi Mix 2S, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018.
In addition to the plans of launching this new variant, AnTuTu scores for the Mi Mix 2S have been spotted on the internet.
According to a report by GSMArena, Mix 2S may come with a Snapdragon 845 chip, the latest flagship SoC from Qualcomm. This means that Xiaomi could be competing with Samsung to become the first company to bring a Snapdragon 845 -powered device in the market. The company has not issued any official statement about the device nor any details on a potential launch date.
One thing to note about the AnTuTu score is that the score uses the latest version of the benchmarking software, making the result incompatible with scores from older versions of AnTuTu. The report indicates that the device scores 2,70,461 score which is impressive when we compare the score of 2,18,000 that the Huawei Mate 10 Pro managed with its Kirin 970.
However, the report hinting at the launch and the score should be taken with a pinch of salt as all of the screenshots and scores can be faked easily.
The chances of the Mix 2S with 845 arriving before Samsung’s flagships is also unlikely as previous reports indicate that Samsung has secured the early supply of the chip to ensure that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and its variants would be the first to pack in the latest processor.
