The NieR Automata Piano Collection has been announced by Square Enix, with the game’s official soundtrack being transformed into piano arrangements for the upcoming album release.
The Piano Collection will be released on April 25th in Japan, with a North American release yet to be confirmed. The album will feature a variety of piano arrangements from the hit 2017 release, with it having been highly requested by fans of Platinum Games’ sci-fi action RPG.
To get a feel of what to expect from the NieR Automata Piano Collection, you can listen to a playlist below of excellent fan-made piano arrangements taken from the OST:
The NieR Automata soundtrack was composed by Keiichi Okabe, who was previously attached to the Tekken series after composing for Tekken 5, 6, and 7. The physical release of the Piano Collection will also include original illustrations by Kazuma Koda.
Square Enix has a history of releasing piano collections for the games that it publishes, with the likes of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series each having their own arrangements. The official NieR Automata soundtrack has already been released, with the three-disc compilation clocking in at over three and a half hours. Unlike the original NieR, which saw all versions of its soundtrack sung by Emi Evans, NieR Automata ‘s soundtrack was sung by three different vocalists — Evans, J’Nique Nicole, and Marina Kawano. Additionally, Japanese lyrics were penned by the game’s director, Yoko Taro.
The NieR Automata Piano Collection has been made available to purchase on the Japanese Square Enix store, along with Amazon Japan. It is also available to view on the official Square Enix site.
