Despite releasing a ridiculously bad hand-drawn portrait of a suspect, police in Pennsylvania believe they got their man.
On Tuesday, the Lancaster Police Department published a description of a person who allegedly posed as an employee of a stand at the Central Market Mall, only to rob the stall and flee with an undisclosed sum of cash, Lancaster Online reports.
Unfortunately for law enforcement, they also included a sketch of the suspect that appeared to have been drawn by « Peanuts » creator Charles Schulz.

« We released all of those details together in our police log in the hope that someone recognizes the suspect, » they said in a Facebook post.

The image quickly went viral online and was roundly mocked for its lack of detail, but amazingly the information helped, according to police.
« While the sketch provided by the witness may have appeared amateurish and cartoonish, it, along with the distinctive physical descriptors, jogged the memory of at least one investigator to provide a potential suspect name, » they said on the department’s Crime Watch page Wednesday.
