Charlie Lagarde walked into a convenience store on March 14 to buy a bottle of sparkling wine and lottery ticket on her birthday, and walked out a millionaire.
Lagarde purchased the winning ticket for Gagnant à vie, a scratch-off game worth a million dollars, The Canadian Press reported.

Lagarde opted to receive $1,000 every week for the rest of her life in lieu of the lump sum.
The lucky winner spent a few weeks deciding whether to accept the one-time payout or receive the cash prize in installments.
She consulted with a financial advisor who persuaded her to choose the non-taxed, weekly income.
« It’s without taxes so it’s equivalent to a salary of more than $100,000 a year, so it’s a great start in life for that young lady, » Patrice Lavoie, a spokesman for the lottery corporation, told The Canadian Press.
