'This Post Office Scam Must Stop': Trump Targets Amazon, Says USPS Used as a 'Delivery Boy'

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Saturday morning to call out what he sees as harmful business practices used by Amazon to boost its own business while “causing tremendous loss” to the U. S. Postal Service.
The anti-Amazon diatribe began Thursday, when the president slammed the delivery giant for avoiding taxes, putting other retailers out of business and scamming the USPS:
I have stated my concerns with Amazon long before the Election. Unlike others, they pay little or no taxes to state & local governments, use our Postal System as their Delivery Boy (causing tremendous loss to the U. S.), and are putting many thousands of retailers out of business!

Trump continued his argument Saturday, this time targeting lobbying efforts the company exploited to lower costs for the online retailer at the government’s expense.
He cited reports showing that the USPS loses money for every package it delivers for Amazon and demanded that the “Fake Washington Post” — which Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, owns — register as a lobbyist group.
“This Post Office scam must stop,” Trump declared. “Amazon must pay real costs (and taxes) now!”
While we are on the subject, it is reported that the U. S. Post Office will lose $1.50 on average for each package it delivers for Amazon. That amounts to Billions of Dollars. The Failing N.Y. Times reports that “the size of the company’s lobbying staff has ballooned,” and that…

With Trump mentioning parcel rate increases, the tweets have many wondering whether those changes will actually be coming to the USPS, as well as what other alterations to the government’s delivery system are being planned.
