She’s dangerously in love.
Former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams just said “yes!” to her pastor boyfriend Chad Johnson, whom she’s been dating for one year, People revealed on Thursday.
“That time I got engaged March 21st and @people is telling y’all alllll about it!! Thank you @people and @nelson_jeff!!!” Williams wrote on Twitter Thursday morning .
The 37-year-old said they “could not contain » the news any longer.

Johnson proposed to Williams at a hotel in Pebble Beach, Calif., where their texting relationship first began and used a video on an iPad of her family and her now fiancé talking about the proposal.
“I started weeping and wailing when I see all these special people,” Williams said of his video with her family . “Towards the end of the video, something in my head said, ‘Pull yourself together! He’s about to propose! Stop all this crying!’”
Williams met Johnson in March 2017 while on a spiritual retreat in Arizona. The retreat was conducted by Johnson, a pastor, life coach and chaplain for sports teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and L.A. Dodgers.
“I was in a horrible, dark place,” Williams said, explaining that she had just ended a relationship with an ex who was cheating on her.

“I just needed to go somewhere where I could get a message of hope and restoration, rejuvenation — get connected to God,” she continued.
The 40-year-old pastor was in a similar place in his life — and had almost given up on dating before meeting his soon-to-be bride.
“Michelle was coming off the heels of a really bad relationship, and I was just in a place of despair as well,” he told People.
The two hit it off on the retreat, but ultimately parted ways. A friend encouraged Johnson to pursue Williams and he made a poor attempt via text that ultimately worked out in the end.
“I tried to roll in with some mac daddy game — and I tried to flirt a little bit and said something like, ‘How about you and I connect sometime?’ And right away, she texted right back with one word and six question marks behind it: ‘Connect??????’” Johnson recalled.
“I thought she had dissed me. So I was embarrassed, and I didn’t reach back out to her because I thought I’d ruined the friendship.”
A message from Williams via Instagram story started their relationship, which they both said is built on friendship and communication.
The couple plans to wed this summer — and Williams already has her dress.
“Why wait? I want to get married now,” she said. “But he wants a wedding!”
