Michigan basketball assistant Saddi Washington was involved in a single-car crash Tuesday afternoon near Willow Run Airport.
Washington was driving with his family after the Wolverines flew home from San Antonio, following Monday’s 79-62 loss in the NCAA title game to Villanova.
« Everything is fine, » U-M associate athletic director Tom Wywrot wrote in an email to the Free Press. « He and his family are at home and are good. Thankfully it wasn’t worse. »
No specifics of the crash were provided, but according to MLive.com, police were called around 3 p.m. to a rollover crash on westbound Ecorse Road, near Denton Road and the Willow Run Airport.
Washington just completed his second season on coach John Beilein’s staff. He was an assistant at Oakland under coach Greg Kampe from 2006-16.
