Oakley man charged with sexually assaulting 2nd young girl

The abuse spanned several years, authorities allege.
SAGINAW, MI — Already charged with sexually assaulting one teenage girl, an Oakley man is facing more charges after another minor has come forward.
Brian B. Fawcett, 58, on April 25 appeared in Saginaw County District Court for arraignment on three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a relation. The charge involves penetration and is punishable by up to life in prison.
According to Saginaw County Sheriff’s Lt. Miguel Gomez, the charges relate to crimes that occurred between late 2014 and November 2017. The girl was about 12 when the alleged abuse began, Gomez said.

Fawcett on April 20 had been arraigned on single counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a relation and second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Second-degree criminal sexual conduct is limited to touching and is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Those charges relate to a 15-year-old girl allegedly being assaulted by Fawcett between Nov. 23 and Nov. 25 of this year, court records show.
According to Gomez, the two girls are related to Fawcett by marriage. Police are investigating whether there are additional victims, Gomez said.
Fawcett is in custody at the Saginaw County Jail as of April 26. He is to appear for a preliminary examination at 3:30 p.m. on May 3.
