We have the scoop for Destiny 2 players on where to find Xur, what exotic items he has for sale on May 25, and whether any are worth spending Legendary Shards.
It’s Friday which means the mysterious Destiny 2 vendor Xur is back for players to spend their Legendary Shards on his selection of exotic merchandise. It also means it’s another week for players to get their hands on some new exotic gear thanks in large part to the most recent expansion, Warmind.
This week, Xur has left the tower and headed for Jupiter’s moon, Io. Players can find him in his typical spot located within Giant’s Scar in a small cave. After fast traveling to that zone, head through the metal structure and into the area with the massive drill. Follow the left perimeter until a small cave is reached with the mysterious salesman inside. As always, players can find his icon and general location from the Io minimap as well.
Xur’s exotic armor selection this week includes Sanguine Alchemy chest armor for Warlocks, Foetracer helm for Hunters, and Khepri’s Horn for Titans. Not only that, Destiny 2 players can pick up the Vigilance Wing exotic pulse rifle as well.
The Foetracer is another strong PvP item for Hunters. The exotic perk on this helm not only visually marks targeted enemies but deals increased damage to low-health marked enemies. It has limited uses in PvE, but remains a great option for those who enjoy the Crucible.
Warlock players once again get a new Warmind exotic this week in the form of the Sanguine Alchemy. This strong defensive chest piece provides 1 point of resilience and 2 points of health restoration. Its exotic perk is called Heightened Senses and provides enhanced radar as well as the ability to mark enemies while standing in a rift. Based on that alone, this looks to be a fairly strong PvP armor piece for Warlocks.
Finally, for Titan players, the exotic helmet called Khepri’s Horn is available from Xur. Introduced in Curse of Osiris, this helm is a solid option for Sunbreakers. Its exotic perk, Solar Rampart, can recharge Barricade and supercharges it with a blast of Solar energy when summoned after a solar based kill. Obviously, for players not using a solar subclass or weapons, this helm is pretty useless.
For his exotic weapon this week, Xur has the Vigilance Wing, an extremely strong pulse rifle that remains a popular choice for PvP players. Along with Composite Stock, its exotic perk is Harsh Truths, which turns the gun into a five round burst rifle while providing the user with health regeneration and increased movement speed after a kill. This is a gun certainly worthy of the 29 shards asking price.
Naturally, Xur also has his selection of consumable items including the Fated Engram, Three of Coins, and the Five of Swords. Five of Swords is a newer consumable item which lets players increase or decrease the Nightfall difficulty through modifiers. To increase the score multiplier, players can enable various modifiers such as elemental burns which not only makes the mission more challenging, but also increases the chance for better loot at the end.
Here’s the complete rundown of Xur’s entire stock for May 25 – 28:
