Abrams — who served as Georgia House Majority Leader — has written her novels under her pen name, Selena Montgomery .
Her biography says she’s sold over 100,000 copies. She wrote her first novel, » Rules of Engagement, » about an intelligence operative who falls for her partner while investigating a terrorist group — during her third year at Yale Law School.
« I wanted to write a book before I graduated, » she told the website Super Lawyers. « I wanted to write a spy novel with a woman as the protagonist. »
Abrams told the website ghost stories her father would tell her and her siblings inspired her writing – which earned her the « Best New Author » award from Romance In Color.
She made history when she became the first woman Democratic nominee for governor. Her next stop is the November election.
« You did it. #TeamAbrams just won our primary election, and this victory belongs to you, » Abrams tweeted to her supporters.
