Microsoft Build 2018 is upon us, and here’s how to watch the keynotes live.
Build is Microsoft’s annual developer conference, but if you’re not going to be in Seattle attending the event in person you can still watch Satya Nadella, Scott Guthrie and Joe Belfiore’s keynotes live online.
Build 2018 runs from 7-9 May, with keynotes starting at 4.30pm UK time, which is 8.30am local time (Seattle).
This overlaps with Google’s own developer conference, I/O, which you can also watch online .
As with previous years, you’ll be able to catch the keynotes as they happen.
We’ll embed those videos here if we can, but you’ll also find them on the Channel 9 website, which already has several ‘build-up’ videos you can watch right now.
If you have a Microsoft account, you can ‘RSVP’ on the website to get access to Build Live. This is completely free and, as well as the live keynotes, you’ll also be able to watch on-demand content.
Here’s Satya Nadell’s keynote from Build 2017:
We’re sure to hear more about upcoming features and improvements to Windows 10, despite the April 2018 Update having only just been released.
Microsoft has said it is committed to delivering two major Windows updates per year, one in spring and one in autumn. So we’re expecting at least one of the keynotes to talk about Redstone 5, which is the codename for the autumn 2018 Update.
There could be updates on the next version of Office (2019), or new features coming to Office 365.
Expect lots more on ‘intelligent cloud’ and ‘intelligent edge’ plus updates on Microsoft Graph, Azure Visual Studio and other platforms. There will be sessions on AI and machine learning, plus blockchain.
