Speaking with BBC in a recent interview, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that the teenage Muslim superhero will “definitely” get some screen-time in the foreseeable future. However, this will take place sometime after Captain Marvel (2019) has released.
“Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comics, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel; is definitely sort of in the works,” said Feige. “We have plans for that one once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”
Ms. Marvel was only recently introduced in the comic books. She greatly idolizes Captain Marvel and aspires to be just like her. Hence, it was only natural for the teenager to take on a superhero name in the honor of her idol after getting her superpowers.
Ms. Marvel is currently one of the more popular characters in Marvel Comics. The character has the ability to stretch her limbs and even transform her body in different sizes, from growing to fill an entire room to shrinking into the side. She has even had the honor to join a new Avengers team for the greater good.
There is no word on whether Ms. Marvel will get her own solo movie as part of phase four or if she will be limited to special appearances. There is also the possibility of a television series targeted at younger audiences.
