Officers responded to three shootings between midnight and 5:15 a.m. Saturday
Waterloo police identified the man killed during a spate of overnight shootings over a five-hour period on Saturday.
At about 5:15 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 600 block of Gable Street. They found Gregory K. Walker, 33, suffering from a gunshot wound. Walker was transported to Allen Hospital, where he later died. An autopsy will be performed Monday by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office, according to a news release from Waterloo police.
Previously that night, officers heard shots fired just after midnight around the 1300 block of East 4th Street. Police determined the shooting occurred in the area of nearby Linn and Cottage streets. Officers determined that a 17-year-old suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at Covenant Medical Center. A 21-year-old also suffered a minor injury and was treated at Allen Hospital.

Then, just after 4:30 a.m., Waterloo officers responded to the 1600 block of Sycamore Street on report of shots fired. They found a 22-year-old suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at Allen Hospital.
Authorities have not said whether the shootings were related and continue to investigate the incidents.
