In the newest Fortnite update, players can expect to find weaker shotguns, stronger traps, less damage from the storm, and the removal of jetpacks from the game.
Fortnite has just released some new v4.3 content update patch notes, with a few notable changes to shotguns, traps and jetpacks. With jetpacks having always been a limited time item, Epic Games has chosen to remove them while also making some changes on how much damage shotguns and traps will deal out moving forward in the game.
When it comes to shotguns, Epic Games decided to have them nerfed in hopes to moderate how battles unfold in a majority of firefights. The Fortnite creators cited that many have become too reliant on the weapons. Check out how shotguns have changed below:
As previously mentioned, although jetpacks were originally advertised as a limited time item in Fortnite, many felt as if they outstayed their welcome. With this being the case, it was only matter of time before the once hyped-up aerial items became one of the most annoying pieces of content in the game. The jetpacks will officially be scrapped on Monday, June 11 at 8 am.
More updates included in the new Fortnite update relate to the amount of damage that the spike traps bear on their victim. Spike traps are now more powerful than ever. They’ve been buffed to twice what they were, now doing a damage total of 150. A change like this is going to make people very scared to walk into buildings from now on.
Some other changes that included in this new update apply to the Supply Llamas, loot and ammo adjustments, minigun and C4 adjustments, and storm damage adjustments. Check out the rest of the specifics of the update’s tweaks below:
Fortnite is a game with a variety of play styles and so many different ways to approach a battle, but a majority of them end up with shotgun duels unfolding anyway. With shotguns being nerfed and other weapons like traps, miniguns, and C4 being buffed, will we finally see some more variety?
Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
