Enter Meizu 16, the next in the list of flagship smartphones that the Chinese firm has decided to launch. According to company’s founder Huang Zhang, the Meizu 15, launched to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the company, was just a test, and Meizu 16 will be the ultimate company offering. He also divulged that the soon-to-be-launched flagship phone will be equipped with a heat dissipation system that works through a copper tube. With the new heat dissipation system that works through a copper tube, the company has high hopes on it being able to utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset power.
Heat dissipation systems are not a novelty in the smartphone world. These systems have been incorporated in other smartphones previously too, some examples being the 2017 Razor Phone, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. As the name suggests, this system has been designed to counter the overheating problems of smartphones and as such, push the performance of the octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC to the maximum. This announcement by Meizu about the upcoming flagship having Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC is not entirely new. Earlier also, the company had confirmed that at least one Meizu-16 variant would come equipped with the Snapdragon 845 SoC. This will make the variant the first Meizu flagship smartphone to sport the advanced top-notch chipset by Qualcomm.
It is also predicted that the Plus-variant of the smartphone will come with 8GB RAM, while the standard version will be powered by the lower-end chipset Snapdragon 710 which is still a high-end SoC. Meizu 16 is set to be officially launched in August at an event sans the founder Huang Zhang’s presence. Vice President Li Nan or Yang Wei will grace the event in his stead. There has been no news till now about the price and availability of Meizu 16.
