SAN FRANCISCO — The Pistahan Parade, a dazzling display of Filipino pride, with festive floats, cultural dance troupes, lively community contingents, and musical groups along Market Street from the Civic Center to the Yerba Buena Gardens is open for registration of participants.
The Pistahan Parade will kick off the Pistahan weekend on Saturday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. There will be an Opening Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. before the Parade marches up Market Street from Civic Center to Fourth Street.
A distinguished panel of judges will be located at Market and Mason Streets. Awards will be given for: Best Spirit, Best Costume, Best Performance, Best Spectacle, and Best Overall.
This being the milestone 25th Annual Pistahan Parade and Festival, the organizers are looking forward to having a bigger, louder, and more entertaining Parade which will showcase what it truly means to be Filipino and Filipino American.
The Pistahan Parade is not just a Filipino community tradition, but also a San Francisco event. As such, everyone is welcome to participate and join in the fun.
