Microsoft’s E3 2018 press event won’t be as explosive as some may think. According to our sources, EA PLAY threw out Battlefield V gameplay for Microsoft.
We are hours away from Microsoft’s E3 2018 press event and according to sources close to the company, Microsoft’s E3 2018 press event lacks substance. There are 15 world premiers and most of them aren’t exclusive to Xbox One. In fact, Microsoft is partly to blame for yesterday’s disappointing EA PLAY.
We are hearing it was Microsoft that asked EA to hold back Battlefield V War Stories yesterday. But that still doesn’t explain the lack of multiplayer gameplay at the event. EA shared exclusive footage with YouTubers like Westie and Jackfrags, leaving EA PLAY dry.
Meanwhile, War Stories were originally supposed to be at EA PLAY but Microsoft asked the publisher to pull it back. Those hoping to see an explosive E3 conference from Microsoft should keep their expectations in check. Microsoft may not have much to show but instead, resort to discussing most of its future projects and plans rather than actually showing something. It may be similar to EA PLAY – more talk, less content.
Still, Microsoft may end up blowing us away but so far, from what we hear, it is going to be a decent press conference at best. Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference is going to be around 100 minutes long. Hopefully, those 100 minutes will offer something good.
Comparatively, Sony has already generated hype for its press event with the announcement of Death Stranding, Spiderman PS4, The Last of Us II, and Ghost of Tsushima for E3. While the rest of the lineup isn’t confirmed, the leaked list very exciting.
