Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Galaxy S10 by the end of this year. Multiple reports and rumours about the release and specs of the handset have been emerging from the past few days, claiming every new detail each time. Well, now a new another report, courtesy of ETNews, claims that Samsung might release the Galaxy S10 in three variants. The publication has even mentioned some of the specifications for each of the models that are going to be launched.
After the disastrous Galaxy Note 7 launch and subsequent recall, Samsung is said to be planning everything carefully, especially while implementing newer technologies. The Korean smartphone giant had only launched two variants of Galaxy S-series phones every year (not counting variants which didn’t see a wide release): Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.
Since Samsung will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Galaxy S series next year, it is trying to show off its technological prowess by launching three variants of the Galaxy S10. If the information turns out to be true, the three Galaxy S10 variants are codenamed Beyond 0, Beyond 1, and Beyond 2. Final names of the phones haven’t been revealed yet.
The Beyond 0 and the Beyond 1 smartphones will reportedly sport 5.8-inch displays. The Beyond 3 smartphone is said to sport a 6.2-inch screen. Some believe that Samsung has tried to increase the screen size of Beyond 3 to 6.44 inches.
As far as the imaging aspect of these phones goes, the report claims that the Beyond 0 is going to feature a single camera at its rear, whereas the Beyond 1 might sport a dual-camera setup. On the other hand, the Beyond 3 is assumed to feature a triple-camera setup, similar to the recently launched Huawei P20 Pro ( Review). Apart from the implementation of three rear-facing camera sensors, the higher-end variant is also believed to carry an in-screen fingerprint reader.
The Galaxy S10 is rumoured to come packed with an octa-core Snapdragon 855 chipset or an equivalent in-house Exynos 9820 chipset. There might be three memory configurations of the phone: 4GB RAM+64GB storage, 6GB RAM+128GB storage and 8GB RAM+256GB storage. The rest of the specifications, including camera sensors and battery capacity, remain a puzzle right now. However, we are hopeful that we will learn more information in the near future as the launch date approaches.
