Cyberpunk 2077’s lead level designer explains why the video game developer CD Projekt Red decided to give the forthcoming action-RPG a first-person perspective.
Not too long ago, CD Projekt Red finally unveiled Cyberpunk 2077 during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference by releasing a brand new cinematic trailer that offered potential players a look at the different types of life one can lead in the forthcoming action-RPG’s Night City. While the new footage was definitely well-received by many, the studio recently confirmed that the title will have a first-person perspective, which has upset some fans. For those fans, Gelencser went on to say, “Third-person works well in games like the Witcher when you have a lot of motion and movement around you. But when all the things happen to you, from you, within you, first person point of view is the right decision to take, especially because of the augmentations.”
Bearing everything in mind, this particular feature out of all the gameplay details revealed thus far will likely remain a contentious subject for some until CD Projekt Red finally shows off some actual footage of Cyberpunk 2077 in action as opposed to a CG trailer. Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but lacks an official release date.
