Demi Lovato is struggling with complications following her overdose last week, TMZ reports.
The pop star was hospitalized after overdosing on an unknown substance last Tuesday. Doctors have still not disclosed what Lovato was using, though initial reports suggested she was on heroin and/or methamphetamine at the time of her overdose. And new reports suggest Demi’s road to recovery has been anything but easy. Her friends and family have been given very few updates on her condition but she is still “very, very sick.”
“She is suffering extreme nausea and a high fever, among other things,” a source told TMZ . “We’re told these are among the ‘complications’ related to the overdose.” (RELATED: Demi Lovato’s Friend Issues Statement About Bizarre Video Prior To Her Overdose)
Demi was found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home just before noon last week. She’d reportedly been out partying hard the night before and had to be revived with narcan — an anti-opioid drug — upon EMTs’ arrival. (RELATED: REPORT: Demi Lovato Partied Hard All Night Before Overdosing)
And while it was previously reported that Demi planned to go to rehab as she was released from the hospital, it seems like she’s too ill to even begin a conversation about her plans for recovery.
Still, doctors expect Lovato to make a full recovery, even if the process takes longer than usual.
